Dining at Soy Good in North Brunswick Township, NJ, offers a delightful foray into Halal Asian cuisine. Customers rave about the inviting ambiance and the attentiveness of the owner, Uzma, whose personal touch enhances the experience. The buffet during their opening days garnered praise, particularly for standout dishes like the crab wontons and a variety of flavorful soups. Many diners appreciated the generous portions of meals, such as the Thai Red Curry and Szechuan Chicken, with reviews highlighting the packed flavors in every dish.
However, reviews reveal some mixed experiences. While the restaurant shines with dishes like Tom Kha Soup and Pineapple Fried Rice, others found certain items like basil fried rice lacking authenticity. The price point also draws mixed feedback; some appreciate its moderate nature, while others expected higher dining standards. The cozy but upscale atmosphere stands out, inviting a casual dining experience.
Overall, Soy Good proves to be a promising destination for anyone craving Asian-inspired fare, with the hopes of broader menu offerings in the near future. As one reviewer noted, it’s a place one might recommend for its friendly service and well-prepared dishes, but perhaps keep an eye out for authenticity in specific offerings.

Based on 100 reviewsSoy Good, a halal restaurant located in North Brunswick Township, NJ, garners praise for its diverse and flavorful menu, especially its Asian-inspired soups, curries, and noodle dishes. Diners appreciate the generous portions and moderately priced offerings, though some menu items like the basil fried rice receive mixed feedback regarding authenticity and flavor. The restaurant's ambiance is consistently described as cozy, clean, and inviting, enhancing the overall dining experience. Notably, the attentive and welcoming hospitality, particularly from the owner, stands out as a key strength, contributing positively to customer satisfaction. Areas for improvement include updating the physical menu presentation to better reflect the restaurant’s quality and professionalism.
Came here for dinner with the family. For their opening days, they’re offering buffets and the selection was amazing. We got to enjoy different soup, such as hot and sour and sweet chicken corn soup. The crab wontons are amazing and I had about 50 of them. Other than that, I really enjoyed the selection, in which I had veggie fried rice, Hakka noodles, chicken Penang thai curry, Szechuan chicken and the chili fish. The service was very quick and amazing. Waters and drinks came out rather quickly. Seating was quick because we had reservations. And there was plenty of parking. I had a chance to speak with the owner, and they will only be doing buffets until the end of the month. After that, they won’t have the buffet, but they will even have a broader menu, which I can’t wait to see on my next visit in. Highly recommended!
Visited Soy Good recently and had a mixed experience. The restaurant has a pleasant and inviting ambience — cozy and well-maintained, making it a nice spot to dine in. As for the food, it was average overall. One particular letdown was the basil fried rice, which didn’t quite hit the mark in terms of flavor or authenticity. Prices are moderate, which is a plus. I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for a casual dining experience with decent Asian-inspired dishes. However, if you’re specifically craving authentic Thai or Chinese cuisine, you might want to explore other options.
Absolutely loved our experience at Soy Good! The ambiance is tasteful and not overdone. The food was delicious — Ch. Tom Kha soup, Ch. szechuan, pineapple fried rice, black pepper Ch., Shrimp Singaporean noodles, every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. What really stood out, though, was the incredible hospitality. The owner, Uzma G, came to our table multiple times to check in. She was so kind, humble, and genuinely interested in making sure we were having a great experience. As a sweet surprise, she even treated us to dessert on the house! That personal touch made our evening truly special. Can’t wait to come back — highly recommend!
Soy Good should be renamed Soy Excellent! We started with the Vegetable Spring Rolls which have a delicious black pepper flavor. Yum! Entrees were Thai Red Curry with Chicken and the Thai Penang Curry with Shrimp. Both dishes were amazing and portions are generous. We ordered a medium spice level and it was perfect. Our experience was enhanced by the kind and attentive staff, and the sleek, clean atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
This place looks amazing. The food was decent too. The cherry on top was the owner coming by at the end and ensuring we were satisfied and asked us for any feedback. This shows initiative and that she was welcoming criticism, wanting to make it a better experience. Having said that, i would recommend a better menu than the paper they had because it was showing signs of wearing for a new restaurant. The waiter we had was nice and gave us recommendations. However, the other staff members who bought the food were in plain clothes from what I recall. They had no expression whatsoever. A smile goes a long way, they just came and said, "excuse me" and placed the food down. They looked unhappy or just expressionless in my opinion. Also, I'd recommend a round every now and then to ask if there was anything needed. We might've actually ordered more but the floor was empty for some time. Other than that, I read the negative reviews some people have left, and would highly recommend management to reach out to them and invite them for a chance to redeem.
We had the pleasure of trying Soy Good for the second time today, and it was just as impressive as our first visit during their Iftar buffet. This time we dined in, and everything from the food to the service was excellent. We started with the Chicken Corn Soup and Hot & Sour Soup—both were flavorful and comforting. For appetizers, we had the Dynamite Chicken and Spring Rolls, which were delicious and perfectly crispy. For mains, we tried the Szechuan Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Black Pepper Beef, Shrimp Lo Mein. Every dish was full of flavor and well-balanced—nothing was too overpowering. They also offer a great selection of boba! We tried the Peach with Lychee Boba and Mango with Strawberry Boba—both were refreshing and tasty. Din’t take many pictures but sharing a few.
The food was absolutely delicious. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive. Our server made sure we felt well taken care of without being intrusive. Highly recommend this place for their food and outstanding service. I highly recommend their chicken lo mein and strawberry mojito.
If you’re looking for good quality Desi Chinese/thai experience, this is the place to go. I always worry about quality control when I find a good restaurant, but I’ve been here three times and the food has been really good every time. The food feels fresh and well seasoned. They make it to your spice level which is great when you need a mix of spicy and mild for other members in your group. Restaurant’s decor is also really nice. Really happy to find a good halal Chinese restaurant in the area.
